The Process With FED As Your Design/Builder

This will help you plan your meetings with us, the groundbreaking ceremony, and everything through the project’s completion. STEP 1:
SELECT A PARTNER

You begin the search for a design/build company that you are comfortable working with based on the company’s experience, culture, and reputation.

STEP 2:
SHARING YOUR VISION

Meet with your selected company, FED, to share your vision and goals so the preliminary design process can begin.

STEP 3:
A FIRST LOOK

FED creates basic floor plans and elevations based on your needs, square footage, and building type. This will help establish the master plan and construction phases for the project.

STEP 4:
ESTABLISHING A BUDGET

Basic floor plans will be utilized to establish a project budget.

STEP 5:
THE PERFECT LOCATION

With basic floor plans and a budget established, you can now begin looking for a suitable property, if needed, and secure financing.

STEP 6:
WORKING DRAWINGS

FED would then have working drawings completed based on design and use knowledge from industry leaders that fit your project scope and budget.

STEP 7:
WHAT WILL THIS COST

Once property and financing has been secured, final pricing can be determined through FED's competitive bid process

STEP 8:
MOVING FORWARD

In this stage, the final drawings and project costs will be confirmed. You will also move forward with purchasing property if needed and financing.

STEP 9:
THE PERMIT PROCESS

Final drawings will be submitted to local and state authorities to receive site plan approval, building permits, etc.

STEP 10:
PROJECT PREP

Long lead-time materials are ordered: metal building, structural systems, mechanical and electrical service equipment, etc., to ensure delivery when construction proceeds.

STEP 11:
GROUNDBREAKING

Once approvals are received from local and state authorities, FED breaks ground on your project, marking the beginning of construction.

STEP 12:
CONSTRUCTION PHASE

Project construction will begin with installing underground utilities, site, and foundation work.

STEP 13:
STRUCTURAL SYSTEM

Previously ordered long lead time materials such as the structural system arrive and installation begins.

STEP 14:
ROUGHING IT IN

As the building structure takes shape, we move forward with the roof, walls, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.

STEP 15:
FINISHING TOUCHES

Your building is now enclosed, and finish work on all the details begins.

STEP 16:
PROJECT COMPLETION

FED receives the Certificate of Occupancy, and you can now use your new building. Your project is complete, and FED is available for any post-construction maintenance questions and support.
