The Huron County Hockey Association project is a brand new ice arena being developed to expand recreational opportunities and strengthen community connections throughout Huron County. Designed as a long-term community asset, this modern ice arena will provide a dedicated space for youth hockey, local events, and programming in the Bad Axe area.
Following a successful groundbreaking ceremony, the project has entered the early planning and coordination phases as the team works toward full construction readiness.
Design & Structural Coordination:
The project team is finalizing updates to the structural drawings to align with the overall building manufacturer’s design. This work is expected to be completed next week.
Permitting:

Funding & Grant Support:
Grant application efforts continue, with our FED Grant Specialist submitting six applications to date.

FED and the project team are actively working with subcontractors to establish in-kind donations and contribution totals, supporting the project’s continued momentum.
