Commercial Construction Project Manager

Full-time position: Onsite employment in Gladwin, Michigan
Salary: $70,000 – $95,000+ based on experience
Position Summary: FED is searching for a Construction Project Manager as an addition to our team that can efficiently complete a job from start to finish with extreme detail and customer service in mind. A Project Manager should be confident in their ability to work with others, take direction from clients, and adjust the project while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment. An employee in this position must be adaptable and capable of paying attention to detail while striving to meet project and customer goals. In compliance with FED policies. Objectives and Competencies: Typical duties of our Project Manager would include the following requirements of the position:
- Ability to manage multiple commercial construction projects simultaneously.
- Manage multiple different subcontractors.
- Work with commercial building customers.
- Ability to negotiate contracts and subcontracts.
- Possess a keen understanding of all budgetary aspects of a commercial construction project.
- Communicate up to the Senior Project Manager about each job on a frequent basis.
- Outstanding management and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project.
- Self-paced and able to hold themselves accountable to schedules and tasks.
- Knowledge of Procore is required.
Education and Experience: Five (5) years of construction management experience is required.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit for long periods of time in a computer office setting. Employee will be responsible for weekly site visits, which may require walking on rough and/or elevated terrain.

An ideal candidate for our Estimator position would have high levels of accuracy and be able to manage a fast-paced workload. Supporting qualifications are someone who pays great attention to detail, holds high standards for creating accurate estimates, and has experience in estimating across multiple divisions. An Estimator should have excellent customer service and communication skills to create professional relationships with our subcontractors. Objectives and Competencies:
Typical duties of an Estimator would include the following requirements of the position:
- Accepting goals from the Chief Estimator to achieve an aggressive bid-hit-win ratio.
- Successfully hitting all owner-committed bid due dates.
- Uphold a professional representation of FED Corporation to subcontractors and clients.
- Be confident in their ability to lead and take charge of a project.
- Coordinate all proposals and bid requirements at the direction of your supervisor.
- Maintain accurate estimating workbook templates.
- Update and maintain a cost history library.
- Review final completed job costs compared to bid estimate with Project Managers and Site Supervisors.
- Manage company master sub-list database and bid request software.
- Assist all our Project Managers with change order pricing as needed.
- Set up project bid request software and track subcontractors bidding jobs weekly.
- Visit job sites before bidding to review site conditions and general conditions.
Education and Experience: Minimum five years of experience estimating at a commercial construction level or related field. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, PlanSwift, and CostX are preferred. Experience in estimating supply and erect of pre-engineered metal buildings is beneficial.
Physical Requirements: Individual will be required to perform desk-required functions for much of their day. Sitting, bending, filing, and stretching are included. Travel to visit potential job sites will be required for this position. Employee must be able to sit in a vehicle for an extended period and walk on construction sites that may contain uneven or elevated terrain.

Site Supervisor

Full-time position: Onsite employment in Gladwin, Michigan. Travel will be required.
Salary: $65,000+ based on experience
Position Summary: An ideal candidate for a Site Supervisor should have a high level of proficiency, be great at meeting deadlines, stay on budget, and remain organized throughout the entire project. This person should thoroughly understand “order of operations” for commercial construction, including blueprint reading, scope of work verification, and site logistics. Typical duties of our Site Supervisor would include the following requirements of the position:
- Maintain job schedules, project specifications, and scopes of work to avoid cost increase and meet project goals.
- Exceed FED’s quality and workmanship expectations.
- Provide our customers and subcontractors with extraordinary service.
- Provide pro-active job site management and positive team leadership and motivation.
- Provide onsite change order management and contract management.
- Complete detailed daily job logs along with supporting onsite project documentation.
- Work directly with the Project Manager to develop schedules and draft weekly updates.
- Develop and maintain look ahead schedules as required.
- Strong knowledge of Procore.
- Exemplary written and verbal skills.
- Responsible for scheduling subcontractors and site inspections.
- Uphold FED’s strong safety model.
- Follow project rules, policies and procedures that FED has established.
- Uphold a professional representation of FED Corporation to subcontractors and clients.
- Demonstrate proficiency and professionalism in their ability to lead and take charge of a project.
- Results driven individual who takes accountability for their success and the success of the project.
- Willingness to adapt to the policies and procedures created by FED Corporation.
Education and Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of construction experience, emphasizing leadership management. Proficiency in Procore is required. Employee must have a strong understanding of computers and versed in multiple platforms of construction management software.
Physical Requirements: Travel will be required for this position, and employees must be able sit in a vehicle for an extended period. Employees will be required to walk construction sites that may contain uneven or elevated terrain and have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Objectives and Competencies: Typical duties of Steel Erector would include the following requirements of the position:
- Erecting steel
- Install insulation
- Install sheeting, roofing, and walls
- Erect mezzanines and handrails as required
- Structural steel fabrication and erecting
- Capable of being certified to operate equipment
- Able to work at heights
Education and Experience: Steel construction experience is preferred, but training is available for motivated and reliable individuals.
Physical Requirements: You must be able to work on your feet for extended periods in all forms of weather. The employee will be asked to lift and move materials by bending and reaching.
