We’re also excited to share a special feature highlighting our steel crew and the skilled trades. Our team recently appeared in a college commercial showcasing the world of steel building erection and giving more people a look at the skill, teamwork, and career opportunities behind the structures we build every day.
It’s a great reminder that what we build goes beyond steel. It’s about investing in people, partnerships, and the communities we call home.

Project Spotlight: Clare County Road Commission
This month, we’re sharing a bird’s-eye view of a project we’re proud to be wrapping up!
This timelapse captures the Clare County Road Commission project from the ground up, highlighting all the preparation and detail that goes into a site before the building takes shape. Once the site is ready, you can see just how quickly our steel crew gets to work erecting quality pre-engineered metal buildings.
Projects like this take a team. We’re grateful for the strong relationships we’ve built with local subcontractors and partners who help us bring these facilities to life and, ultimately, create spaces that serve the communities they’re built for.

Industry Insight: Manufacturing in Michigan
Every year, the Advanced Manufacturing Expo (AME) brings together manufacturers, industry experts, and business leaders from across Michigan to discuss the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of manufacturing.
This year, members of the FED team attended the event to hear directly from those driving innovation across the industry. The conversations reinforced many of the trends we’re seeing firsthand…
Inside FED: Supporting Local
Supporting our local community is something we take great pride in. We love when fair week comes around and all the kids beaming with pride over their hard work. Each year we purchase several animals from the auction and processes them locally before gifting to our employees to fill their own freezers. It’s a win win scenario for the community, 4H, the FED team and local businesses.

While the Gladwin fair has come and gone, FED is proud to sponsor the Midland Fair August 15-22nd. We hope it’s a great success and everyone has a safe memorable time!

Steel Spotlight: Connecting With the Future Workforce
One initiative we’re especially proud of at FED is finding more ways to connect with the next generation and introduce them to opportunities in the skilled trades. As a Michigan business, we believe we have a responsibility to help strengthen our state’s future workforce by creating awareness of the careers and opportunities available right here in our communities.
That connection looks different depending on where students are in their journey. Sometimes, it’s the FED team delivering popsicles and giving work truck tours to elementary students. Other times, it’s giving college students a firsthand look at what a career in the skilled trades can actually look like.
Recently, our steel crew had the opportunity to be featured in a local college commercial promoting skilled trades and showcasing a day on the job as a steel building erector. We’re proud of the way our crew represented FED and the work they do every day.
Opportunities like this are another way we can connect with our community, build awareness around careers in the trades, and help young adults see the possibilities available to them.We think our crew did an amazing job, and we’d love for you to check it out!
