What Is the Fick & Sons Propane Office Project?

The Fick & Sons Propane Office project is a new facility in Grayling, Michigan, built to support the company’s propane operations. The project began with the demolition and removal of the existing structures on site to make way for a new, purpose-built facility designed around Fick & Sons’ operational needs.

FED Design Builders is serving as the General Contractor, overseeing construction of the new office and supporting site infrastructure from demolition through completion.

What Progress Has Been Made?

The Fick & Sons Propane Office is nearing completion as final finishes and building systems come together. LVT flooring is complete, while drywall touch-ups and final painting are nearly finished. Cabinets and countertops have also been delivered in preparation for installation.

Site grading is complete, and major mechanical and electrical components continue to come online. Exit signs and smoke detectors have been installed, canopy lighting is in place, and the condensing units have been set on the mechanical pad and connected to the building. The gas connection has also been stubbed to the exterior.

What’s Next?

The final phase will focus on interior finishes, landscaping, and building system completion. Crews will finish painting, install millwork and countertops, complete remaining electrical work, and finalize the fiber connection in the IT room.

Outside, disturbed green spaces will be seeded and landscaping completed while the exterior pre-punch list begins. The automatic transfer switch and generator will also be installed and connected as the project moves toward final closeout.
